for improved off-road performance. New lifted knuckles maintain proper
steering and ball joint angles.
Frame bracket modification
required. 99 & early 2000 models must check transmission
crossmember. If "S" shaped, order 271N. If box shaped, order
272N. If equipped with factory 17" wheels, then 17" or
larger aftermarket wheels must be used. Torsion bar unloading tool

The 1999 models share the
same suspension concept with the 1988-98 year model trucks, but none
of the components are interchangeable. Superlift uses the same proven
lift method. The factory upper and lower control arms are lowered in
relation to the frame which brings ride height up. By keeping the
factory control arms and torsion bars, we are able to retain stock
alignment geometry & ride quality.
The front differential assembly is also lowered
to keep CV axle angles in check. This is accomplished by
using two, one-piece tubular crossmembers that span from
frame rail-to-frame rail. Superlift's new control arm
brackets tie into these crossmembers along with
"kicker" braces to form an exceptionally strong
assembly.
The truck steers through a
centerlink. Bracketry lowers the factory centerlink to keep the tie
rods in phase with the lower control arms. A greaseable stabilizing
link regulates centerliink movement and reduces the load and stress
transmitted to the pitman and idler arms.
Superlift recommends nothing larger
than a 12" (actual) wide, 36" tall tire mounted
on a 10" wide wheel be used for anything other than
exhibition or show.
|
Front
track is NOT increased; CV axle angles remain within stock spec's;
allows the use of most 16" 6-lug wheels w/standard offset; special
wheels are not required & vehicle can be run with stock tire &
wheel combo; dual front
shocks and hoops are included.

Autoride or Quadrasteer
99-06 1500 6" System
Lift is accomplished via one-piece cast drop down
steering knuckles attaching to heavy-duty 1/4" thick, high arched lower
control arm crossmembers. Fabtech's combination of steering knuckles and
high arched crossmembers provides superior ground clearance for the true
offroader. The front differential is
relocated with a cradle style bracket using bushings at just the proper
angle to allow the use of the factory front driveshaft, without vibration
on Autotrac models. Solid steel billet sway bar end links with urethane
bushings retain the factory front sway bar angle.
The stock upper control arms and steering centerlink are retained in the
factory position and do not have to be removed for installation. The front
suspension is completed with crossmember impact struts and torsion bar
drop down brackets. Note: Early 2000 models
may require 1999 box kit. If factory transmission crossmember is straight,
use 00-05 application. If factory transmission crossmember is curved in an
"S" shape, use 1999 application.

Tuff Country
EZ-Ride Suspension's new "Strong" Chevy lift kits
use new extended steering knuckles and a three-piece sub frame that
includes two cross members that are connected by a heavy duty skid
plate. This skid plate is designed to protect the front differential
and stabilize the cross members for unmatched strength and
durability. This design also allows for an easier and quicker
installation. 4" cast iron blocks lift the rear. Differential
drop brackets and torsion bar drop brackets keep everything in
alignment. Also included are lateral compression arms which along
with the 3-piece sub frame strengthen and stabilize the front end.
