Ford Ranger Suspension Lift Kits
83-97 2WD Ranger

Lifting the front of an Independent Front Suspension Ford more than 2" requires new coils, lowering the two-piece axle and correcting the caster angle as well as adding a dropped pitman arm. Some manufacturers go even further offering extended radius arms rather than drop brackets for factory arms. In 1998 Ford scrapped the two-piece front axle in favor of a torsion bar setup similar to that General Motors uses on their ‘88 and newer full-size trucks. Check out the kits listed for your particular vehicle.

Note: any 83-97 Ranger to be lifted 1.5-2" will have alignment problems unless the factory shims are at or near zero degrees. Verify what's on your truck prior to purchase. Otherwise, a minimum of 4" of lift will be required in order to achieve correct alignment. No lift will be achieved on vehicles with big block engines.

The difference between a Superlift Standard lift kit and a Superunner lift follows. Standard kits utilize longer radius arm brackets that replace the stock pieces. The Superunner series replacement radius arms are considerably longer than stock offering caster correction and additional benefits.

Using the Superunner Steering Linkage in addition to the pitman arm lowers the pivot point of the tie rods close to the axle halves’ pivot point and allows the use of new tie rods that are proportional in length to the axle halves. The result is steering linkage that is in almost perfect phase with the suspension, yielding optimum steering response.

3.5" kits include coils, all necessary drop bracketry, rear blocks and power steering pitman arm. 5" kits include same components with additional sway bar mounting kit. Extended brake lines strongly recommended for 3.5" & required for 5" lifts.
